A 14K gold evening purse by Shreve & Co., San Francisco, retaining its original carrying chain and fitted interior. The exterior is engraved with an elaborate script monogram, while the clasp is set with a cabochon sapphire thumbpiece. Founded in 1852, Shreve & Co. became one of California’s foremost jewelers and luxury retailers, renowned for its fine jewelry, silver, and decorative arts. Marked Shreve & Co. and 14K. XRF analysis confirms the gold content.
