A classic nude study by Ruth Bernhard, one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century. Hips Horizontal distills Bernhard’s sculptural approach to the human form, emphasizing light, line, and sensual abstraction. This silver gelatin print—numbered 32/75—is featured as Plate 49 in The Eternal Body: A Collection of Fifty Nudes (Photography West Graphics, Carmel, 1986), Bernhard’s iconic monograph. Signed and numbered in pencil by Ruth Bernhard lower margin.
