A Russian silver-gilt cloisonné enamel service, late nineteenth to early twentieth century, comprising twelve matching teaspoons, two open salt cellars with associated cloisonné spoons, and two additional cloisonné spoons, for a total of eighteen pieces. The spoons feature twisted stems with polychrome cloisonné enamel decoration and monogrammed gilt bowls. The pieces bear Russian kokoshnik silver hallmarks together with the traditional 84 silver standard, indicating approximately .875 fine silver, and maker’s marks reading EC (Cyrillic). The quality of the enameling and gilding is characteristic of the Moscow workshops active during the late Imperial period, when Russian cloisonné silver achieved international recognition for its exceptional craftsmanship. The silver content has been confirmed by XRF analysis.
