. Blued barrel cluster, silver plated frame, color casehardened hammer, smooth varnished rosewood grips. Unmarked externally. Serial numbered on left side of grip frame under grip, right grip panel with matching number written in period pencil. An interesting single action spur trigger cartridge pepperbox with no sights. A removable arbor pin allows the barrel cluster to be removed for loading and unloading and can serve as an ejector rod. It is believed about 1,000 were produced during the late 1860s.

Condition
Very fine. Barrel cluster with most of the blue intact, showing some high edge wear, thinning, some flaking and some scattered areas of light surface oxidation and minor surface roughness. Frame with nearly all of the silver plating intact, again showing some high edge wear and minor loss and with a deeply tarnished patina. No external markings. Pistol is not mechanically functional action. Cylinder arbor pin frozen and could not be removed. Bores fine, mostly bright with some light oxidation and crisp rifling. Grips about fine and crisp with some minor chipping along the lower sharp edges and most of the varnish in place, showing some light wear.
