A very nice 1840 artillery saber, with a beautiful grip and wire, in bright polished scabbard The blade shows arsenal polish, and the marks are a little worn, but still visible. There is the number 61 stamped on the guard on the reverse side, and an effaced number on the front. Dimensions: the blade is 32 inches long and the sword overall is 39.5 inches. Processing and shipping in the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Excellent overall, with a really exceptionally nice grip with original leather and wire wrap. The blade is bright, showing the original polish marks. The scabbard is in the bright with traces of light rust.
