A nice 1860 cavalry saber by Emerson & Silver of Trenton, New Jersey, dated 1864. The grip is excellent, and the blade is quite nice, although it has a single nick in the cutting edge. The scabbard is complete, but is in relic condition. The number 54 is stamped on the guard. Dimensions: the blade is 34.75 inches long and the sword is 42 inches long overall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition

The saber is extremely nice, other than a single nick in the cutting edge. The maker’s name and inspectors’ stamp are somewhat worn, but still clear. The grip is excellent, with all its original leather and wire, and there is a crack in the grip leather on the reverse side. There is some verdigris on the knuckle bow.
