A pair of early 20th-century whiskey back bar bottles, each featuring colorful label-under-glass advertising panels. The first is a round decanter-style bottle labeled “XXXX Golden Rule Bourbon / Braunschweiger & Co. S.F.” with original stopper and gold-foil style lettering. Braunschweiger & Co. was a major San Francisco liquor wholesaler and distiller active from the 1880s through 1913. The second is a rectangular “Peach” bottle featuring an ornate portrait of a smiling Victorian woman framed in pink and gold tones. The Peach bottle is embossed on the base “Pat’d July 1902.” These bottles were common fixtures in saloons and liquor establishments, used to display house brands in a visually appealing way.
