Sharps Model 1859 carbine converted to .50-70 caliber cartridge for the Indian Wars, serial number 66144. The gun has had the wood replaced, the butt stock probably at the time of its conversion, the forestock possibly more recently. A rubber pad has been added to the butt and replaced the original steel butt plate. The stock has no markings on it. The metal is very good, although it has been extensively cleaned. The rear sight is the later pattern, and the barrel has no visible markings. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $125.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition

The gun has replaced wood, the butt stock possibly being original to 1867, but having been cleaned and all markings removed. The current butt stock does not have a patch box, as would normally be found on a Model 1859. The original butt plate is missing. The metal has been cleaned, and the Sharps' markings on the left side of the breech are partially obscured. The other stamps are clear, although the barrel may be unmarked. The bore is excellent, as is the action, which is tight and crisp.

Shipping is only in continental U.S. and information regarding shipping price is provided within the description of each lot. For international and larger items that we cannot ship in house, please take a look at our shipping contacts.
