This vibrant Impressionist street scene—thought to depict Tiburon, California—was painted in 1929 by celebrated Society of Six member Selden Connor Gile. Rendered with bold color and expressive brushwork, the composition captures pedestrians walking down a sunlit road flanked by trees and houses. A superb example of Gile’s plein air style from his most sought-after period.
