Authentic double-barreled outside hammer 10 gauge shotgun by Remington Arms Company, featuring “Wells Fargo & Co. 313” engraved in script on the rib between its damascus twist barrels. Matching serial number 243110 indicates this is a Model 1889, likely Grade 4 with a matte rib and breech engraving. Fitted with a steel butt plate and brass wrist plate secured by 21 screws, the gun retains its original pistol grip. Faint checkering is visible on the forend. Wells Fargo shotguns varied widely in make and style, being purchased locally to arm stagecoach guards and express agents during the company’s frontier operations.
