This elaborate chromolithograph was issued by Rothchild Bros., a prominent wholesale liquor firm based in Portland, Oregon, located at 20–26 N. First Street, near Burnside. Founded in the late 19th century, Rothchild Bros. operated as major distributors of nationally known spirits such as J.H. Cutter, Magnolia, Glenwood, Jas. E. Pepper, Hunter Rye, and Yellowstone. In addition to liquor, they advertised barroom furniture, billiard tables, and fixtures—making this an archetypal piece of late Gilded Age Western saloon culture.
