A percussion Philadelphia Deringer pistol, barrel marked “Deringe / N. Curry & Bro / San Francisco Cala / Agent,” with side plate engraved “Deringe.” The pistol features a 2 3/4 inch barrel and measures 6 1/2 inches overall. The walnut stock is decorated with German silver inlays including escutcheons, accents, and an engraved trigger guard. The hammer, lockplate, and breech tang show engraved detailing. Pistols of this type were retailed by Nathaniel Curry & Bro., San Francisco’s leading 19th-century firearms dealers and military outfitters.

Barrel and lock retain a mottled gray patina with scattered handling marks. Stock shows light wear with crisp checkering and minor age blemishes. Engraving remains clear. Mechanically functional.
