A fine presentation walking cane featuring a 14k gold L-shaped handle engraved with scrolls, banners, and patriotic motifs, finished with a polished California gold quartz end cap. The back of the handle bears an applied gold shield inscribed: “M. G. / from / his friends.” The shaft is crafted of deep reddish rosewood, tapering to a brass and steel ferrule.
