An oil on canvas by George Demont Otis (1879–1962), signed lower right. Executed in the artist’s characteristic California Impressionist style, the painting depicts a well-composed landscape with a grove of eucalyptus overlooking a broad agricultural valley and distant hills. The reverse bears the artist’s handwritten inscription “G.D. OTIS,” the George Demont Otis Estate stamp, and an exhibition label identifying the painting as Across the Valley. The painting is housed in a quality Vandeuren, Los Angeles frame.
Dimensions: Canvas: 24 x 30 in. Frame: 31 x 37 in.
Shipping: Free Sacramento pickup. Shipping via FedEx within the continental U.S. for $150 plus 1.5% insurance (unless waived in writing).
Condition
Appears to retain its original canvas. A label on the reverse indicates the painting was professionally cleaned and finished with an acrylic ester resin varnish. Examination under ultraviolet light revealed no indication of restoration or conservation.
