Frederick Hart (American, 1943-1999) Bronze Sculpture, ‘The Daughters of Odessa’. ’Daughters of Odessa refers to a series of bronze sculptures by Frederick Hart that pay tribute to the four daughters of Tsar Nicholas II: Olga, Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia, all of whom were executed during the 1918 Bolshevik Revolution. Frederick Hart intended the work to symbolize not just the tragedy of the Tsar’s family, but also as a wider commentary on human struggle and the oppression of people worldwide.
Dated ‘1998’ Signed ‘F. Hart’ and edition numbered ‘100/110’ in the bronze base.
Dimensions: 25.5” high x 18” base diameter. A very heavy, large statement piece.
