Cartier repeating desk clock, crafted in silver with richly colored translucent purple guilloché enamel panels over engine-turned grounds. The compact rectangular case retains its original white enamel dial with stylized Arabic numerals and elegant pierced gilt hands, signed “Cartier” and “Paris Londres.” A push-piece projects from the top to activate the repeating mechanism, while apertures in the side permit winding and setting.

Produced during the golden age of Cartier’s luxury objets d’art, the clock exemplifies the firm’s collaboration with Europe’s finest enamellers and specialist clockmakers during the early twentieth century. The vivid purple sunburst guilloché enamel on both the front and reverse remains the visual highlight of the piece and is characteristic of Cartier’s finest travel clocks and desk accessories of the period. The underside is stamped with several workshop and inventory numbers, including 71902, S, 1541, 23 2 3, and 1680, providing useful manufacturing and service references.
