A scarce early photograph by Ansel Adams (1902-1984) titled “Wind,” dating to around 1919. This gelatin silver print depicts a windswept tree against a rocky landscape, demonstrating Adams’ emerging style in his formative years. Signed in pencil lower right “Ansel Adams,” numbered 449 and titled “Wind” lower left. Featured in Ansel Adams: The Early Years.

Provenance: Northern California family, by inheritance.
