Founded in the early 1930s by brothers Sol and Sam Laykin, Laykin et Cie became a fixture at Bullock’s Wilshire, the most prestigious department store in Los Angeles. The firm catered to Hollywood’s elite, producing and retailing bespoke jewelry and accessories often crafted in collaboration with fine Italian ateliers. By mid-century, Laykin et Cie had established itself as one of America’s leading jewelers, noted for refined goldwork and continental sophistication. This example reflects that aesthetic partnership between Italian artisanship and American luxury presentation. Dimensions: 2.25 in. long. Provenance: Al and Carol Cali Collection.
