14K yellow gold cigarette case by Schwarz & Steiner, Vienna (active circa 1880–1924), featuring a refined engine-turned checker pattern and two cabochon-cut rubies mounted on the clasp. The interior is fully marked “SCHWARZ & STEINER” and “585.” The firm was a renowned Viennese maker of fine gold and silver objets d’art during the Austro-Hungarian period, celebrated for their precision craftsmanship and understated luxury.
