14K multicolored gold hunter case pocket watch retailed by Anna L. Silveira, 721 Jackson St., San Francisco. The white enamel dial features ornate gilt tracery with cobalt blue Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds at six o’clock, signed Anna L. Silveira, San Francisco. The Solidarity 14K case, numbered 404777, is exquisitely engraved with floral and foliate designs in rose, green, and yellow gold, centered by a shield-form monogram and fitted with a box hinge, a hallmark of the company’s finest grade construction. The movement is signed Illinois Watch Co., Springfield, 19 jewels, adjusted to three positions, double roller, serial no. 2712530, dating to circa 1916.
Solidarity Watch Case Co., later absorbed into the Keystone group, was known for its precision gold cases and distinctive multicolor engraving work, which ranked among the most decorative examples of early 20th-century American craftsmanship.
