The Western-themed image depicts a dramatic shootout between cavalrymen and Native American warriors amid scattered crates of Treadwell Whiskey—a composition designed to appeal to frontier ideals of toughness and loyalty. Treadwell Whiskey originated in San Francisco in the late 19th century and was distributed widely across the American West. Its red cross trademark and bold marketing made it a recognizable name in saloons and mining towns. This appears to be the only known surviving example of this sign.
