Large Tiffany & Co. sterling and gold monogrammed Presentation loving cup. Simple applied foliate rim decoration with exuberant foliate application at base. Marked on underside including "T" for directorship of Charles L. Tiffany (1891-1902). Research completes by Tiffany & Co Archives which detail the original pattern (13469), mark "T" with date 1891, original sale date December 31, 1897 and original manufacturing details. Also included is the New York Times article regarding the presentation of the Tiffany cup to Mayor William L. Strong at the Waldorf Astoria.
