Three Mexican 50 Pesos gold bullion coins, each bearing the 1947 restrike date. First introduced in 1921 to commemorate the centennial of Mexico’s independence, the 50 Pesos (“Centenario”) is among the world’s most recognized gold bullion coins. Each contains 37.5 grams (1.2057 troy ounces) of .900 fine gold for a combined actual gold weight of approximately 3.617 troy ounces. The obverse depicts the Winged Victory monument before the volcanic peaks Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, while the reverse features the Mexican coat of arms with eagle and serpent. Highly regarded by both bullion investors and world gold coin collectors for their substantial gold content, historic design, and international liquidity. As legal tender gold bullion coinage, this lot is exempt from applicable California sales tax.
