An important mid-century American luxury wristwatch designed by Ruser of Beverly Hills, crafted in 14k yellow gold with an integral heavy curb-link bracelet and rectangular wristwatch case. The present example is notable for its documented Hollywood provenance. The bracelet exhibits the substantial and fluid styling associated with high-end Beverly Hills jewelry ateliers of the 1950s, while the compact rectangular dial retains its original minimalist aesthetic with applied gold markers and baton hands.

According to accompanying documentation, this watch is one of only three examples produced by Ruser in 1954. The first two examples were reportedly made for Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis during the height of their entertainment partnership. The present watch, engraved “Bill Bowers” to the reverse, was most likely presented to Hollywood screenwriter William “Bill” Bowers (1916–1987), noted for his work on westerns, comedies, and film noir productions during the studio era. Bowers received Academy Award nominations for The Gunfighter (1950) and The Sheepman (1958), and maintained professional and social connections within the Dean Martin and Rat Pack entertainment circle.

The watch houses a 17-jewel Ebel movement adjusted to three positions. Accompanying documentation notes the watch was the third example of the design created by Ruser. The original fitted Ruser Beverly Hills presentation box accompanies the lot.
