Patsy studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland during a vibrant period when Roy De Forest, Clayton Bailey, and Robert Arneson were teaching. She was briefly married to artist Harold Schlotzhauer (b. 1949) and remained closely connected to her early circle of artist friends throughout her life.
