A beautiful Percussion target rifle, with heavy target barrel by R.M.Wilder, of Clearwater, Michigan, and lock by Remington, with target sights, including a Creedmore sight on the barrel tang, with a gutta percha disc, and a peep sight at the muzzle. The gun has a octagonal barrel, and half stock, and is similar to rifles known to have been used by Civil War sharpshooters, including Berdan’s. There is a brass patch box on the stock. The gun comes with an additional steel ramrod with a ball dimpler point. There is a sliver of wood missing on the forend, the gutta perchas disc on the Creedmore sight is cracked, and the lockplate is dirty, but the gun is excellent overall.
