A well- marked Remington New Model Army Revolver, in .44 caliber, serial number 44123, with a crisp cartouche on the walnut grip, and martial stamps visible on the brass and steel parts. The steel has been over cleaned. There are patches of heavy pitting on the loading lever, and on one spot on the cylinder. There are patches of lighter pitting in small spots on the barrel and the frame. The gun has an incredibly crisp and tight action, and the grips retain their original finish and nice cartouche, although there are minor slivers missing on the right grip. The front sight may be a replacement. Despite the patches of pitting, the majority of the steel is clean.
