Pair of Finn Juhl (1912-1989) dining side chairs, model 197 featuring solid wood frame and floating seats. Originally made for luxury brand France and Son. Bear France and Son tag underside as well as stamped, "Made in Denmark".  Finn Juhl was originally trained as an architect then began designing furniture. The organically shaped seat and backrest are raised from the carrying frame, visually lifting the seated person, making it appear as if the law of gravity has been defeated.
