A pair of finely woven Apache coiled trays executed in natural and dark-dyed willow. One tray features a pictorial design of stylized deer arranged in a radial composition around the center, while the companion displays a bold geometric pattern of radiating arrows and stepped motifs. Together, the trays illustrate both the pictorial and geometric traditions of Apache basketry, showcasing the technical skill and striking visual vocabulary that have made Apache weaving among the most admired Native American basket traditions.
Dimensions: Each approximately 14.5 x 3 in.
Shipping: Free Sacramento pickup. Shipping via FedEx within the continental U.S. for $65 plus 1.5% insurance (unless waived in writing).
Both trays are in very good overall condition with expected minor wear from age and use. The pictorial tray exhibits areas of light staining and one tray has a small rim separation, visible in the accompanying photographs. Both remain structurally sound and display well.
