15" single Polly Gas lens and frame with originally stamped "WOCO.", Wilshire Oil Company, on bottom of each side of frame. Dimensions±: Lens 15"dia. Frame 18"h x 16.5"w x 6"d This Polly Gas globe features the iconic parrot logo perched on the company’s bright yellow and black branding. Introduced by Wilshire Oil Company, based in Los Angeles, Polly Gasoline became a well-known West Coast brand recognized for its bold visual identity and high-octane fuel. The parrot mascot was a marketing standout, symbolizing brightness and memorability — critical traits during the golden age of roadside advertising. The globe’s reverse-painted or baked glass lenses showcase the vivid POLLY GAS typography and the central green parrot, positioned against a black background with a yellow outer ring. Gas globes like this one were mounted atop visible or early pump models and were both functional (illuminated for visibility) and promotional in design.
