The Attack by German-born, San Francisco-based artist H.W. Hansen showcases his keen eye for motion and detail in portraying a dramatic horseback confrontation. Known for his realistic depictions of frontier action and cowboy life, Hansen moved to San Francisco in 1882 and became one of the foremost watercolorists of the early American West.
