A finely engraved Smith & Wesson Double Action 3rd Model revolver, .38 S&W caliber, with a 3.25-inch ribbed barrel. Serial number 225582, with matching numbers on butt and cylinder rear. The revolver retains its original nickel finish and features near full coverage New York-style scroll engraving with flowing Arabesque and foliate motifs, geometric accents, and punch-dot background shading. Fitted with striking mother of pearl grips—the right grip carved in relief with an anchor over a coiled rope forming a monogram “H” and “E”. The left grip is smooth. Barrel rib marked with two-line Smith & Wesson address and 1882 patent date. Includes a period leather flap holster with tooled geometric patterns and stamped “47 56/38/4” on the belt loop, likely indicating the holster’s model and compatible revolver size. Holster is very good with some expected use wear.
