A luminous Pacific Northwest landscape by Eliza R. Barchus, titled Mt. Hood at Sunset. The composition features the snow-covered peak of Mount Hood rendered in warm, late-day light, reflected across a calm lake and framed by distant pines. The painting is signed at lower right “Barchus.” Inscribed on the reverse: “Mt. Hood at Sunset / Painted by Eliza R. Barchus / Portland, Ore.”
Dimensions: Canvas: 22 x 36 in., Frame: 29 x 43 in.
Provenance: Southern California family by direct family descent. Red wax Portland gallery label affixed to stretcher.
Pickup & Shipping: Free Gardnerville, NV pickup. $25 invoice transfer to the Annex Facility in Sacramento. Shipping via FedEx Ground/Home with signature required for $525 + 1.5% insurance (unless waived in writing). Reduced shipping available for multiple lot purchases when possible.
Appears to be in original condition with no indication of restoration or conservation under ultraviolet light. Craquelure present and visible to the naked eye. Please see photos.
