A reverse painted glass advertising sign for Buffalo Lager, Buffalo Brewing Co., Sacramento, California. Features a colorful depiction of the brewery complex with smoking stacks under bold “BUFFALO LAGER” lettering. The convex glass is housed in its original black painted metal corner frame casing with intact original interior lighting. This sign would have been displayed prominently in saloons or establishments serving Buffalo Brewing’s beers to advertise their flagship lager.
Buffalo Brewing Company was founded in Sacramento in 1890 and quickly became one of Northern California’s largest and most respected breweries. Its iconic buffalo branding and large brick brewery complex became a regional landmark until Prohibition forced its closure in 1920.
