An exceptional, large-scale carved meerschaum pipe featuring a pastoral scene of three horses among flowers and foliage, executed in high relief with extraordinary detail. The bowl is adorned with a crowned “R” monogram within a rococo cartouche, suggesting aristocratic or royal patronage. The hinged lid features intricate silver-toned metalwork and is inset with a domed amber finial. Housed in its original velvet-lined fitted case, marked “Ernst Muzeum Aukciói,” indicating sale or exhibition through the prestigious Budapest museum. Likely produced for custom commission or display, this is an extraordinary example of late 19th-century pipe artistry.
