This antique is a scarce variation of the Colt Lightning Rifle, as it has a bayonet lug for a saber bayonet near the muzzle. It is serial number 51367, made in 1891. All known Lightning with bayonet lugs are within a few hundred numbers of this. It is .44-40 caliber, made to be a companion with a single action in the same caliber. This is a medium frame Lightning, similar to those made for the San Francisco Police Department. No sling swirels are attached. Dimensions: barrel is 27 inches long. Gun overall is 44 inches long. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Very good, with minor traces of original blue finish. The stock is good with a number of minor contact marks, although it may have been varnished. Bore is good showing some wear.
