A mixed media composition by Chen Ting-shih, one of the foremost postwar abstract artists in Asia. Dreaming in the Glacier #12 exhibits the artist’s mastery of expressive form and balance, combining bold graphic textures with stark negative space and a single sphere of vivid cobalt. The piece is signed and titled in pencil lower margin, and inscribed on the reverse in Chinese: “To Miss Ko in commemoration,” along with the artist’s signature and date in both Chinese and English. Chen’s work is included in the collections of the National Gallery of Art (Washington, D.C.), the Ashmolean Museum (Oxford), and the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. Condition

Wrapped in cellophane. No restoration or conservation visible under ultraviolet light. Very good overall. Minor scuffing or surface wear.
