The Bally Skill Roll, introduced in March 1958, was the first in Bally’s “Skill” series, designed to highlight player skill over chance. Players insert a nickel and use eight spring-loaded levers to guide the coin down a series of rows, aiming for a perfect score of 460. A successful run lights a star on the backglass, and the coin remains visible until the next game—allowing players to show off their achievement.
