Unframed Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) figure study of a female. Signed lower right. Dimensions: 7"h x 5"w. Mucha was an Art Nouveau illustrator and painter noted for his posters of idealized female figures. He was an artistic leader in the Art Nouveau movement. The documented history of ownership is supported by a handwritten card from Isabella Percy to William M. Rice postmarked September, 1965, where she describes receiving these "faded Mucha drawings" while on a European trip around 1906. These drawings remained with Mr. Rice and his wife Leslie until her passing in 2015. Her estate was heir to many works by family member and noted California artist, William S. Rice. Processing and shipping within the continental US $30 plus a 1.5% replacement cost insurance fee. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.
