South African 1978 one-ounce Gold Krugerrand mounted in a custom 14-karat yellow gold pendant bezel. XRF analysis confirms the bezel is fabricated from 14-karat gold. The pendant retains its suspension bail and showcases both the obverse portrait of Paul Kruger and the reverse springbok antelope design. The Krugerrand, first introduced in 1967, became the world’s first modern bullion coin and remains one of the most widely recognized investment gold coins. As United States coinage, this lot is exempt from applicable California sales tax.
