Hand-engraved 14K yellow gold spectacle case featuring ornate scrolling foliate and acanthus decoration with a central cartouche monogrammed “JRC.” The interior, lined in dark blue velvet, is engraved “J. Ross Clark 710 W.” and stamped with a serial number X1489, 14K, and an unidentified maker’s hallmark. J. Ross Clark (1849–1927) was a prominent Los Angeles businessman and railroad executive, brother of copper magnate and U.S. Senator William A. Clark, and a principal in the development of the Los Angeles & Salt Lake Railroad. Dimensions: 4.5 in. long; total weight 67.7 grams. Provenance: Al and Carol Cali Collection.
