14K yellow gold ladies-size hunter case pocket watch retailed by Anna L. Silveira, 73 Jackson Street, San Francisco. The case front bears an applied enameled “NDGW Past President” emblem of the Native Daughters of the Golden West, framed by engraved foliate scrollwork. White enamel dial with blue numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, and gilt accents, signed Anna L. Silveira / San Francisco. The 11-jewel movement, numbered 2083085, is running and marked with the retailer’s name.
Anna L. Silveira was a noted San Francisco jeweler and watchmaker active from the late 19th to early 20th century, known for high-quality private-label timepieces and presentation watches for fraternal and civic organizations.
